ABOUT SPECTRUM HEALTH

Spectrum Health (formerly known as Severn Surgery) has been in existence since April 1982. The present partnership was formed in April 2020 and consists of three Partners; of which self-funded a drastic refurbishment of the premises in the summer of 2020.

Our mission is to deliver innovative care to the local community.

As a learning and transparent organisation, we encourage patients to provide us with both constructive and positive experiences of our service. This is how we learn and adapt to patient need.

We have also appointed a Patient Champion who is pivotal for promoting new ideas for change and helps to support the vision of our organisation and motivates others to be inspired by his ideas too. As such, our Patient Champion is important for helping to move new ideas and innovations through initiation and development all the way to implementation. Our Patient Champion engages with patients and he acts as their voice; and guides the organisation from a patient perspective.

We are proud to be the first NHS GP Surgery in England to unilaterally open 7am – 11pm  every day of the week, and without any additional funding. We are doing this because we believe in putting you first!

We sponsor several grass roots clubs and charities, including our Executive Sponsorship of Sue Young Cancer Support because giving back to our local community is one of our core values.

Spectrum Health is accepting new patients across Leicester, Leicestershire, Rutland & the Harborough District.

Our patients are our first concern; we aim to treat everyone politely and considerately, with respect dignity and privacy; we are honest and, above all, trustworthy.

The practice is fully computerised with direct links to Leicester, Leicestershire & Rutland Clinical Commissioning Groups (LLR CCGs) and the Leicestershire Partnership NHS Trust (LPT).

The Practice cares for over 12,800 patients.

OUR VALUES

Picture
On Wednesday 21st June 2021 we held our first meeting with our Patient Champion, namely Mr Richard Narayan and he suggested measuring ourselves against our values. We thought this was a fantastic idea and to such end, please see below.

Specialist
We consider ourselves to be specialist because one of our GP partners is a diabetes specialist for our local Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG). One of our Advanced Practitioners also specialises in women’s health and this has proven to be an extremely valuable service for our patients. Another one of fantastic Advanced Practitioner specialises in Emergency Medicine.

Pioneering
We consider ourselves to be pioneering because we like to do things differently with just one example being that we voluntarily opened our doors 7 days a week without any additional funding. We are the first in England to do this! We are also well integrated in the local community and support a number of charities and clubs alongside preparing food parcels for anyone in need, and not just our patients. You can see our community work by clicking here.

Energetic
Energy is thriving at Spectrum Health, with every member of striving towards the provision of a first class service. Energy is not just restricted to the workplace because team spectrum is climbing Mount Snowdon in aid of LOROS and jumping out of a plane to raise money for Rainbows hospice.

Caring
We consider ourselves as caring because we always go above and beyond our contractual requirements. During the COVID-19 pandemic we held weekly group video calls via zoom to combat loneliness and we even held a virtual games session on Christmas day. We also donate £500 to shelter at Christmas because we think everyone should have a Christmas dinner and we also hold a shoebox Christmas challenges so everyone receives a Christmas gift.

Teamworking
Spectrum Health promotes and exercises working collaboratively as a team and this has led to many of staff referring to us as their Spectrum Family. We often have staff outings and enjoy each other’s company both within and outside of the work environment.

Respectful
Our Staff always treat others with dignity and respect. Our service users often comment via our social media platforms and verbally, how polite and caring Team Spectrum is.

Unified
The team at Spectrum Health is unified by good humour and the ethos of having the best interest of patients at the heart. We acknowledge and celebrate acts of exceptional kindness by nominating an employee of the month who receives a £100 bonus.

Motivational
The team is motivated to 'think outside the box' and to provide a first class service. We have a 360 management policy to stimulate new ideas and ways of working.

OPENING TIMES

The Practice is open everyday (Monday to Sunday) 7:30AM until 6:30PM

We close on Bank Holidays
